Hey friends! We’re back with another episode of the Behind the Mic series, and I’m so excited to bring you this conversation with Jason Fitzgerald. Jason is the founder of Strength Running and the host of the Strength Running Podcast—one of the longest-running and most respected running podcasts out there.
Jason has helped so many runners of all levels chase down big goals, and one of his biggest focuses is helping people become well-rounded, injury-resistant athletes through strength training and smart programming. He also offers mental training courses and resources that go beyond the physical side of the sport.
We talk about his journey into podcasting and coaching, what it’s like to be a content creator in the running world, and the values that guide the way he shows up for his audience. He shares about his background as a 2:39 marathoner, some of his favorite interviews, and yes—we get into his “Jesus Take the Wheel 5K” strategy, which had me cracking up.
Before we recorded this episode, I actually listened to his most recent episode on The Strength Running Podcast all about creatine, featuring Brady Holmer. If you’ve been curious about creatine—what it does, how to take it, whether it’s worth the hype—I can’t recommend that episode enough. It’s super informative but also really easy to understand, and I even found myself rewinding to catch all the nuggets. Highly recommend checking that one out after this episode!
Jason is smart, thoughtful, and has a really genuine presence in this space. I loved this conversation and I think you will too.
And as always, if you’re loving the show, leaving a quick rating or review goes a long way—or you can support us on Patreon for as little as $3 a month at patreon.com/lindseyhein and you’ll get all of the episodes AD FREE!
Thanks so much for being here! Enjoy my conversation with Jason Fitzgerald.
