My guest today is Brittany Brown, a standout sprinter who has made waves on the international stage. Brittany is our 2024 bronze medalist in the 200 meters from the Paris Olympics and a 200-meter World Silver Medalist from the 2019 World Championships in Doha. In 2023, she competed in the 100 meters at the World Championships and finished seventh. Brittany’s ran for the University of Iowa, where she earned 11 All-American honors.
Most recently, she competed at the inaugural Athlos track meet in the fall, where she won the 200 meters, beating none other than Olympic champion and meet co-founder, Gabby Thomas. Brittany also raced in both the 100 meters that day. Looking ahead, she’ll be a key athlete in the highly anticipated Grand Slam Track series, which kicks off in Jamaica, followed by stops in Miami and Philadelphia. I can’t wait to see her race at these exciting meets!
Brittany is coached by Boogie Johnson, and during this episode, we dive into her journey from her days at the University of Iowa to turning pro. She shares what it was like to run for Adidas for a while and how her transition to Nike has shaped her career. We also touch on some health challenges she has faced and overcome along the way.
It was such a joy interviewing Brittany—seriously, I didn’t want the conversation to end. I’m officially a fan for life! Watching her race is a thrill, and with World Championships coming up this year, as well as USAs, it’s going to be an exciting time to follow her journey. While we usually focus on marathons here, track season is upon us, and I’m thrilled to bring you these conversations with some of our incredible track stars. Make sure you’re tuning into Grand Slam Track to watch Brittany in action!
