Episode 589: Dani Jones – Training Changes and Joining The Very Nice Track Club!

Today on the podcast, we’re excited to welcome back Dani Jones, a professional runner for New Balance. Dani has recently announced a significant change in her training: she’ll be joining the Very Nice Track Club, where she’ll be coached by Ron Warhurst and Sierra Willis. Before this move, Dani had been training with Team Boss and Coach Joe Bosshard since graduating from the University of Colorado, where she was a four-time NCAA champion. Dani reflects on her time with Team Boss and how incredible of a team environment they had there.

In this episode, Dani shares her plans to experiment with different race distances. Last summer, she ran a personal best in the 1500 meters, running a time of 4:00 flat, and placed ninth at the U.S. Olympic Trials in both 2021 and 2024. Now at 28 years old, Dani is gearing up for the indoor season and looking forward to a new chapter in her career with this change in both her training environment and coaching team. With so much potential still ahead, Dani has a lot to be excited about.

For those interested in hearing Dani’s first appearance on the podcast, our first conversation (episode 256!!) with Dani was back in 2020 when she had just turned pro and was navigating the strange times of the COVID era. It was great to catch up and hear about all the exciting changes in her career since then.

Enjoy my conversation with Dani Jones!
