Today we have Nancy and Elizabeth Jorgensen on the show. Nancy is the mother of 2016 Olympic Triathlon Gold Medalist, Gwen Jorgensen. Elizabeth is Gwen’s sister. Together, they have written two books and the most recent book about Gwen’s career is called Gwen Jorgensen: USA’s First Olympic Gold Medal Triathlete. It is for young adult readers and their hope was to write a story of a female athlete who has big goals and went after them. In this episode, we talk about what it was like to parent a very high achieving child and to be the sister of a very talented and driven athlete.
Elizabeth is an English teacher and Nancy has also written several books.
