Episode 45: Emily Boucher – Fostering Independence

Emily Boucher has taught both preschool and kindergarten in NYC, including at The Brearley School and The Buckley School. She later served as the Director of Beginnings Nursery School and as the Associate Director at the Brick Church School. Emily and her friend and fellow teacher, Amy, started a company called Work and Play where they provide individualized early childhood consulting. 

Emily lives in Connecticut with her husband and her 5 kids where she teaches preschool. Her oldest is a sophomore in college and her youngest is 1st grade. In this episode, we talk about helping our kids learn to play independently, communication as parents with teachers, and we encourage you to let there be messes sometimes.
