Marty Hehir, winner of the Marathon Project for the Men joins me today! Marty ran a huge PR of over two minutes in a time of 2:08:59 yesterday at this race, not only taking the win but also making him the 7th fastest American marathoner of all time.
Marty is the father of two and also in his fourth year of Medical School, in the process of interviewing fore residency programs to become an anesthesiologist.
His previous running experience includes, placing in the top 10 at the 2015 NCAA D1 Cross Country Championship being a key player in his team winning the National Title that year. Marty also competed in the 2016 Olympic Trials in the 10K finishing 7th.
After graduating college he spent 10 months with the Northern Arizona Elite team under Coach Ben Rosario before heading to Med School at Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia.
He currently runs for Rebook and trains with his coach Chris Fox. This was also his coach at Syracuse.
