Emma Coburn joins me on the podcast today. Emma s a 2-time Olympian in the steeplechase, a Silver medalist in the 2016 Olympics and a Gold medalist at the 2017 World Championships! She runs for New Balance and is coached by her he husband Joe Bosshard. She was a 3 time NCAA champion in college where she was coached by Mark Wetmore and Heather Boroughs.
Emma is very involved in the sport outside of her own Professional running, she also the vice president of the Athletics Association- a non-profit to give athlete’s a voice and be heard by USATF, IAAF, USOC, etc. In 2018 her and her husband Joe started the Elk Run 5K to give back to the local community – having raised over $90,000 in 3 years for Gunnison County Cancer Support Charity – Living Journeys.
In this episode we get to hear a lot about Emma’s career and also how her and the Boss team are making things happen in the midst of the pandemic to ensure racing opportunities. I loved hearing about their work ethic as a team and how Joe has inspired Emma and I know so many others to make things happen.
