Episode 260: Duane Solomon

Duane Solomon recently announced his retirement from track and field after a long and successful competitive career. He is an 800 meter runner who is currently the 3rd fastest American in the distance with a time of 1:42:82. Duane competed in the 2012 London Olympics, placing 4th in a race where the World record was set, making his finish the fastest 4th place finisher ever in the Olympic games. He also competed in the 2007 and 2013 World Championships. Duane was known to be a front runner throughout his career and in this episode explains why he loves to race that way.

Duane ran for Saucony for several years and was coached by the legendary Johnny Gray. He is the father of three and now that he is officially retired, he is pursuing a career in law enforcement as a corrections officer.
