Rahaf Khatib was the first covered Muslim-American to grace the cover of any fitness magazine when Women’s Running had her on their cover in 2016. (She was also a top 10 finalist in the Runner’s World Cover Search) She was born in Syria and moved to the United States with her family when she was just a baby. She grew up in Michigan and currently lives there with her husband and three kids.
Rahaf ran the Boston Marathon in 2016 with Kathrine Switzer’s team of women and raised $16K for Syrian Refugees in the process. She just finished the Toyko Marathon and is currently training for the London Marathon, raising funds for Brain Tumor Research in honor of her Dad who is living with brain cancer. This will be her last of the 6 World Marathon Majors to be completed! She is passionate about changing the conversation and stereotypes about her community and shares about that with us in this episode. It’s a good one guys. She was a joy to talk with.
Enjoy!
