To this day he still holds the American Record in the 15K, set in 1995.
After his professional running career pursued the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He combined his passions in 2013 and created the important program called Run Safer, sponsored by Asics. The one hour session teaches you safety techniques and tips to help protect yourself in a dangerous situation. He now owns his own Jiu Jitsu school in his hometown of Monroe, MI.
In this episode we talk about Todd’s athletic career and we talk about running safety- Todd gives tangible tips for how to be guarded and alert while you are out on the run. This topic was brought up in my facebook group in light of the tragedy that happened in Iowa to fellow runner Mollie Tibbetts and I wanted to bring a resource to listeners who might be feeling uneasy about heading out the door. Our thoughts, prayers and love go out to the family of Mollie.
