Episode 153: Denise McMillan

Denise McMillan joins me on the show today. She has a unique story in that she didn’t become a runner until the age of 49 after overcoming Breast Cancer. Just five years later, she has run three marathons and created friendships that will last a lifetime. Denise talks about how the friendship side running might in fact be the most meaningful part to her. Denise has two daughters and one granddaughter and works in marketing.

I met Denise a few years ago and instantly connected to her positive nature and really funny personality. I knew I wanted to have her on the show right from the start and I’m so excited that we have finally made this happen. In the episode, we talk about her life growing up in New Zealand, getting married really young and getting through a lonely time during her divorce. We also talk about walking through Breast Cancer and coming out on the other side and finding so much freedom in running. I know many people will relate to different pieces of Denise’ story and you will take something with you from this conversation.

Enjoy!
