Sinead Diver just placed 5th at the TCS NYC Marathon. She was the first non-African to cross the finish line in a time of 2:26:23. Sinead has been taking the marathon by storm since her debut go at it in 2014 when she ran the Melbourne marathon in 2:34:15 peaking out at only around 55 miles per week. In 2018 she had a breakthrough race when she ran a time of 2:25:17 at the Melbourne marathon. Then this past spring she placed 7th at the London marathon finishing in a blazing fast time of 2:24:11.
Sinead works full time as an IT consultant and is the Mother of two boys. She started running after the birth of her first son at the age of 33. A friend noticed she had some speed in her, so she gradually started entering races and realizing her potential in the sport. Sinead says her strength lies in the marathon and it’s so exciting to see her excel in the sport. Her message that I hard loud and clear today is to not let other set limitations on you – whether that’s because of your age, gender or experience. I just love that message so much.
