Episode 703: Noah Droddy: Life After Professional Running

Noah Droddy is back on the podcast! Noah is a 2:09 marathoner, retired professional runner, new dad, co-host of D3 Glory Days, and now works for Blistering Pace, where I’m lucky enough to work with him at a couple of their races each year.

In this episode, we talk a lot about the transition from professional running to building a career outside of the sport. Noah opens up about realizing he was ready to walk away from professional running, the difficult period that followed, the rejection and uncertainty of his job search, and how he ultimately landed at Blistering Pace.

We also talk about becoming a new dad, supporting his wife Emma as she trains for the Chicago Marathon, his changing relationship with running, some of the highs of his professional career, D3 Glory Days, and why he wants other athletes navigating this transition to know they don’t have to do it alone.

I think this conversation is relatable far beyond professional running. Transitions are hard, and Noah speaks so openly about identity, purpose, rejection, and figuring out what comes next.
