Episode 179: Jordan Hasay, Boston Marathon Special: 3rd place, 1st American

Jordan Hasay placed 3rd at the Boston Marathon on Patriots Day and joins me to recap her build up and race! She was coming off 18 months of injury and time off, having pulled out of the field in Boston and Chicago in 2018.

This was only Jordan’s third marathon and she took another 3rd place spot. She ran her first marathon in Boston 2017 and went on to run Chicago that fall, taking third in both races and running a PR in Chicago with time of 2:20:57.

Jordan has announced that she will be running Chicago in the fall and makes it no secret that she wants to both win and go after the American Record (currently held by Deena Kastor 2:19:36)

This is Jordan’s second time on the podcast- make sure you check out her first episode – Episode 128: Jordan Hasay. She was a stand out phenom in high school, winning the cross country state title all four years. She went on to run for the Oregon Ducks where she had 18 All- American Honors to her name. Jordan runs for the Nike Oregon Project under Coach Alberto Salazar.

Jordan was kind enough to stay on the line and record an extra 15 minutes for patreon– join the community over there for access to that! We chat about her favorite things about having Alberto as a coach and so much more over there! Join today!
